Harishchandragad Camping: A 2-Day, 2-Night Adventure

Embark on an unforgettable adventure to Harishchandragad, a magnificent hill fort in the Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra. This 2-day, 2-night camping event promises breathtaking views, historical exploration, and serene moments amidst nature. Here’s a detailed account of what to expect during this thrilling excursion.

Our journey begins from Ch. Shivaji Nagar, where we gather in front of the Bank of Maharashtra. With excitement in the air, we proceed to our pickup points at Nashik Phata, Bhosari, Chakan, and Moshi. The bus ride is filled with anticipation as we prepare for the adventures ahead.

We arrive at the base village early in the morning, ready to embark on our trek. The early morning start ensures we can take full advantage of the cooler temperatures and serene morning ambiance. The trek begins with enthusiasm as we make our way up to the top, taking in the natural beauty around us.

Upon reaching the top, we enjoy a well-deserved breakfast while taking in the stunning views. After refueling, we set off to explore the historic Harishchandragad. The exploration includes visiting ancient temples and fascinating caves, each with its own unique story and significance.

By midday, we head back to our campsite. After a morning of trekking and exploration, it’s time to relax and recharge. A delicious lunch is served, followed by a much-needed rest period.

As the evening approaches, we make our way to Kokankada to witness one of the most beautiful sunsets you will ever see. The peaceful sunset provides a perfect backdrop for an evening of camping. We gather around, play games, and enjoy the camaraderie of fellow adventurers under the starlit sky.

An early wake-up call sets the tone for another exciting day. We get ready to witness the sunrise from Taramati Peak, the fourth highest point in Maharashtra. The view from the peak is nothing short of spectacular, offering a panoramic vista of the surrounding landscape bathed in the golden hues of dawn.

After savoring the sunrise, we begin our descent back to the base village. The journey down is filled with reflections of the amazing experiences we've had. Upon reaching the base village, we enjoy a hearty lunch before starting our return journey to Pune.

We reach back to Pune by late evening, bidding farewell to new friends and carrying back memories of an incredible adventure. The experience of Harishchandragad leaves us with stories to share and a longing to return to nature’s embrace.
